Go'Rewards, a popular companion app for the game Monopoly Go!, offers its dedicated user base a simple way to find and collect daily rewards in one convenient place. For founder Jordan Couturier, taking care of the app's community and the user experience comes first.

The challenge

The Go'Rewards team wanted to significantly increase their ad revenue to fuel further growth. However, they were unsure of how to balance this with their 'user-first' approach. How do you increase revenue while still giving users an experience they love? They needed a strategy that could unlock more value from their existing ad inventory, without adding more ad placements or intrusive formats. The goal was to protect the quality of the user experience to minimize churn and keep their audience coming back.

The approach

To achieve their goal, the team focused on getting more value from their existing ad setup. By integrating three new ad networks, two of them being third-party SDK bidders, into their Google AdMob Mediation setup, they tapped into more high-quality demand.

This way, they were able to significantly increase competition for every ad impression. With more advertisers bidding against each other for the same ad space, they achieved their goal to increase the average eCPM and maximize the value of each ad request within one week - ensuring Go'Rewards earned the optimal price every time.

The results

By diversifying their demand sources through AdMob Mediation, Go'Rewards achieved a +14% increase in overall ad revenue and their eCPM jumped by 15%. This growth was accomplished while maintaining their commitment to a positive user experience, demonstrating AdMob's capacity to deliver both monetization and user retention

Adding more networks through AdMob allowed us to increase revenue without adding more ads or formats. It was the perfect way to grow while respecting our users.
